223Per Bodega: With their first Reebok collaboration in over two years, Bodega brings a military aesthetic to the “U.S.B.D.G.A.” Drawing from a history of military nicknames assigned to specialized military divisions a la The Screaming Eagles, the Bodega unit are the “Killer Bee Stingers”. A purveyor of hidden gems and hard-to-find goods, Bodega styles itself as a special military unit, with this Reebok collaboration being a part of the unit’s uniform. Featuring a desert camouflage mid-panel, the “U.S.B.D.G.A.” possesses two suede panels: a mustard suede perforated toe-box and a peanut butter suede heel cup. The heel tab is accented by a heel tab with tri-color stripes similar to stripes designated to enlisted members of the military. The Bodega logo, embossed on the tongue of the sneakers, compliments the pair with a subtle touch, while the name “Bodega Stingers” imprints the heels of the shoes to display the wearer’s allegiance. An off-white midsole and gum outsole accents the collaboration. Lastly, a Bodega patch stamps the left sole, featuring the division motto: Don’t Get Stung.
An extra pair of red laces will be included in the box. An accompanying t-shirt featuring a bee pin-up girl, recalling the military aircraft nose art before the 1993 government order of gender- neutral decorations, is also included with the sneakers.
