Air Jordan 14 Doernbecher

The Air Jordan 14 “Doernbecher” is part of the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 2019 Collection and it’s designed by Ethan Ellis who was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Ethan’s design is a tribute to both basketball and the people and places that were a part of his health journey. Colored in “Black/Court Purple-Multi-Color,” the model bears reptilian accents as a nod to his favorite team, the TCU Horned Frogs. The number 6 represents his heart surgeries, while the laces feature the hospitals where he received care. Finally, it’s topped off with the name of his pal and fellow patient, “Lil’ Rey” on the tongue.
